Our Story
A Red Seal tradesman
with a mind for business.
Ryan Elliott picked up a hammer at sixteen and never really put it down. His first large-scale project — a shop and office complex built alongside a Mennonite community — taught him two things simultaneously: what it meant to build with genuine pride, and what it meant to organize complex work across a team of people who each had a specific role to play.
He continued working as a carpenter, earning his Red Seal certification while raising a family and completing a BComm at university. Construction funded the education, and the education changed how he saw construction.
When he began general contracting, the gap in the market was obvious. Construction companies were run by skilled tradespeople with no systems, no service culture, and no business discipline — or by businesspeople who had never built anything and couldn't tell good work from bad.
“There was a massive hole in the market for organized, well-structured construction companies with a focus on service and professionalism.”
Cast was built to close that gap — a firm that treats clients the way any serious professional firm does: with transparency, clear communication, and complete accountability for the outcome.
The project management system Cast uses today was built in-house over fifteen years ago. Born from looking at the stacks of paper on the edge of the desk for every project and knowing there was a better way. Every client gets real-time access to their project — photos, schedules, documents, inspection certificates — from anywhere, at any point in the build.
Cast takes on a limited number of projects each year, and is deliberate about which ones. The projects Cast does best are significant in scope — whole-home renovations, major additions, complex tenant improvements — and the clients Cast works best with share that same commitment to doing it right. Every project on this site reflects that combination.
